Handmade Silver Ammonite Fossil Earrings
These perfect miniature reproductions of tiny ammonites would make a great present for any fossil enthusiast, created from a mould made of an actual Jurassic treasure found on the British Coast.
Approximate width of shell = 8mmÂ
The silver Esther Priestley uses is all 100% recycled silver, mainly in the form of silver clay as this allows textures and patterns to be pressed into the pieces before they are fired in a kiln. Then using traditional silver smithing techniques other parts are added. (Silver Clay has a high silver content, and can actually be hallmarked as 999 Fine Silver rather the slightly lower 925 content of Sterling Silver.)
